1. Disconnect rear tail light, tape over. REMOVE THE LICENSE PLATE.
2. Tires - new or almost new. No more than 10% wear. Make sure there
is plenty of good rubber on them. Check your track day tire pressure,
its different than street riding. Generally its 30/30 psi, but double
check. DOT race tires have a different recommendation altogether,
check this too. You get a better contact patch with lower psi.
3. Bike should be clean and free of grease and dripping oil for obvious
reasons.
4. Check your brake pads and replace if necessary.
5. Spare parts like shift peg, clutch and brake levers or stock sets if you
have them. Tools too.
Equipment
Full leathers, either one or two piece is preferred without tears or
holes. Gauntlet-style gloves (over wrist) and racing boots, and a good
quality full face racing helmet. Reno-Fernley allows armored textile
suits, but it's your ass if you wear them.
The above will be inspected prior to allowing you onto the race track,
this is our version of the tech inspection. You will not be allowed on
the track unless safety minimums are met.
Riding
As stated, there will be a wide variety of riders on the track, from first
timers to seasoned racers. This is the draw of participating in a private
track day, the event is geared for all without assigned
groups. Riders will naturally buddy up with friends.
Food and Water
Stay hydrated, bring plenty of water and munchies to keep your energy
level up. We are discussing at this time the details on whether we can
provide lunch, we want to so, standby for an update.
Stay safe and have fun!
